Best Fathom Alternative in 2026
Invisible meeting transcription. No bots. No Zoom plugins. No cloud recordings.
Why People Are Looking for a Fathom Video Alternative
✗ Bot announces itself in meeting chat
Every time Fathom joins a Zoom call, it posts a message in the chat announcing it's recording. This derails the first 5 minutes of every client meeting.
✗ Locked into Zoom ecosystem
Fathom only works with Zoom, Teams, and Meet. You can't use it to dictate emails, transcribe podcasts, or capture audio from any other source.
✗ Cloud privacy concerns
All meeting recordings are stored on Fathom's servers. Healthcare, legal, and financial professionals face compliance risks using cloud-based recording tools.
✗ Cluttered dashboard
Fathom gives you video highlights, playlists, and a complex dashboard when all you wanted was the text. The UI is overkill for simple transcription needs.
