Privacy Policy

Overview

CoScript is a voice-to-text transcription application developed by Bradley Digital Lab. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data CoScript accesses, how it is processed, and your rights regarding that data.

Data We Access

Microphone Audio

CoScript accesses your microphone only when you actively hold the configured hotkey (F8 by default). Audio is captured in real-time and processed immediately for transcription. Audio is never stored, saved to disk, or transmitted unless you have explicitly enabled Cloud Mode in settings.

Keyboard Hotkey

CoScript monitors a single keyboard key (configurable, default F8) to detect when you want to start and stop recording. No other keystrokes are monitored, logged, or transmitted. CoScript is not a keylogger.

Clipboard

After transcription, CoScript writes your transcribed text to the clipboard and pastes it into your active application. CoScript does not read or collect any existing clipboard contents.

Transcription Library

Your saved transcriptions are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They are never uploaded to any server unless you explicitly choose to use blog publishing features.

How Data Is Processed

Local Processing (Default)

By default, all transcription is performed entirely on your device using an on-device AI engine. Your audio never leaves your computer. No internet connection is required for basic transcription.

Cloud Processing (Optional)

If you enable Cloud Mode or use features like translation, tone adjustment, or AI writing modes, your audio is sent toGoogle's Cloud API for processing. Audio data is processed in real-time and is not stored on any servers after transcription is complete. All cloud communication is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. You should not use cloud features for sensitive or confidential audio.

AI Transparency

CoScript uses artificial intelligence for transcription:

• Local AI: On-device AI engine (runs entirely on your hardware — no internet needed)
• Cloud AI (optional): Google Cloud API for enhanced transcription, translation, and tone adjustment. Audio is sent to Google's servers when cloud features are active.
• Auto-correction: Local post-processing using your personal vocabulary to fix transcription errors

Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect or store your audio recordings
• We do not log your keystrokes
• We do not read your clipboard contents
• We do not collect personal information without consent
• We do not share any data with third parties for advertising
• We do not use tracking cookies or analytics within the desktop application

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your data: Clear your transcription library from Settings at any time
• Revoke consent: Uninstall CoScript to stop all data access immediately
• Disable Cloud Mode: Keep all processing local with no internet communication

Children's Privacy

CoScript is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
