Terms of Service
Last updated: April 28, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using CoScript ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Bradley Digital Lab ("we", "us", "our"), the developer of CoScript.
2. Description of Service
CoScript is a desktop voice-to-text dictation and transcription application for Windows. The Software processes audio input using on-device artificial intelligence and, optionally, cloud-based AI services to convert speech into text. The Software injects transcribed text directly into the user's active application via the system clipboard.
3. Software License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use CoScript for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the Software
- Redistribute, sublicense, rent, or lease the Software to third parties
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Software
- Use the Software to develop a competing product or service
- Use the Software in any manner that violates applicable laws or regulations
4. Account Registration
Certain features of CoScript require you to create an account. You may register using email/password or Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, including your API key. You agree to notify us immediately at support@coscript.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
5. Free Tier & Usage Limits
The free tier of CoScript provides 3,500 words per week of local AI transcription and 1 hour per week of cloud AI processing. Usage limits reset weekly. We reserve the right to modify free tier limits at any time with reasonable notice. Abuse of the free tier (including creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits) may result in account suspension.
6. Paid Subscriptions
CoScript offers paid subscription tiers ("Pro" and "Ultra") with enhanced features and higher usage limits.
- Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are displayed in your local currency (GBP, USD, or EUR) and include applicable taxes where required.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing cycle.
- Refunds: We offer refunds on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of initial purchase. Contact support@coscript.app with your request.
- Price Changes: We may adjust subscription pricing with 30 days' written notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use CoScript to:
- Transcribe, record, or process audio without the consent of all parties where required by law
- Generate content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, or otherwise unlawful
- Circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or security measures
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity of CoScript's servers or infrastructure
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Software or its APIs
- Transmit malware, viruses, or harmful code through the Software
8. Microphone & Audio Data
CoScript accesses your microphone only when you actively hold the configured hotkey. In local mode, audio is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted. When cloud features are enabled (translation, tone adjustment, AI writing modes), audio is sent to Google's Cloud API via encrypted HTTPS for processing. Audio is not stored after processing. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling.
9. Recording, Transcription & Consent Laws
CoScript is a voice-to-text productivity tool. It can be used for personal dictation (speaking your own thoughts aloud) and for transcribing conversations in which you are a participant. You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of CoScript complies with all applicable recording and consent laws in your jurisdiction.
9.1 How CoScript Handles Audio
- No audio is saved. CoScript processes audio in real-time and immediately discards the raw audio data. Only the resulting text transcription is retained.
- Local processing. In local (offline) mode, audio is processed entirely on your device using on-device AI. No audio data is transmitted to any external server.
- Cloud processing. When cloud features are enabled, audio is sent via encrypted HTTPS to Google's Cloud Speech API for processing. Google does not retain the audio after processing is complete. See Google's Cloud Data Processing terms for details.
9.2 Consent Requirements by Jurisdiction
Laws regarding the recording and transcription of conversations vary significantly by jurisdiction. The following is a general overview and does not constitute legal advice. We strongly recommend consulting qualified legal counsel for your specific situation.
9.3 Your Responsibility
It is best practice to inform all participants when using any transcription tool, regardless of your jurisdiction. Even in one-party consent jurisdictions, transparency builds trust and avoids disputes.
- You must comply with all applicable local, state, national, and international recording and privacy laws.
- In all-party consent jurisdictions, you must obtain explicit consent from every participant before using CoScript to transcribe a conversation.
- Using CoScript for personal dictation (speaking your own words into the microphone with no other participants) does not require third-party consent in any jurisdiction.
- If you use CoScript in a professional context (legal, medical, corporate), you should consult your organisation's policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
9.4 Limitation of Liability for Recording Compliance
Bradley Digital Lab provides CoScript as a general-purpose voice-to-text tool. We do not provide legal advice and make no representations regarding the legality of recording or transcribing conversations in your jurisdiction. You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for determining whether your use of CoScript is lawful in your jurisdiction.
- Bradley Digital Lab shall not be held liable for any legal consequences, fines, penalties, or damages arising from your use of CoScript in violation of applicable recording or consent laws.
- By using CoScript, you represent and warrant that you have obtained all necessary consents and authorisations required by law before transcribing any conversation involving other parties.
- You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bradley Digital Lab from any claims arising from your failure to comply with applicable recording and consent laws.
10. Intellectual Property
CoScript, including its source code, design, branding, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Bradley Digital Lab. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved. Content you create using CoScript (your transcriptions, translations, etc.) remains your property. We claim no ownership over your output.
11. Third-Party Services
CoScript integrates with third-party services including Google Cloud AI (for cloud transcription and translation), Firebase (for authentication and data storage), and Stripe (for payment processing). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of third-party services.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
CoScript is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Transcription accuracy depends on audio quality, accent, background noise, and other factors. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy and recommend reviewing all transcribed content before use in critical applications (legal, medical, financial).
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bradley Digital Lab shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business opportunities, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of CoScript, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of CoScript shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Bradley Digital Lab, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of CoScript, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to CoScript at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your licence to use the Software ceases immediately. Sections 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, and 17 survive termination.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a prominent notice on our website. Your continued use of CoScript after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
17. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
